Intercooler Fitting Musings. Radiator lugs need trimming?
Sat at work reminiscing about the day I fitted an Allisport intercooler to my TDCi
To cut a long story short, it would not fit. It had a hell of a wonk on and would not sit plumb meaning that the plugs would not locate in their sockets. This was caused by the allisport intercooler fouling two plastic lugs; one either side of the radiator which I had to cut off (shown red below)
I have not seen anybody else report this, has anybody else experienced it? Hope the intercooler doesn't split now as others have experienced as it's not a job I fancy doing again

Yes I had to trim off the lugs on the radiator to allow the intercooler to sit properly. I found it relatively easy to fit but I haven't got air con on mine. I'm sure the instructions that came with the intercooler said about trimming the lugs off also about spacers on the slam panel support bars.
