After repairing the rust in the bonnet, I'm taking it all back to bare metal and filling where the welds are. It's a slow process to get right but it is progress nonetheless

Thanks chaps
I'll probably paint it myself, but if I run out of time then I'll take the panels to a body shop once I've prepped and primed them 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

I've set this weekend aside for getting the bonnet finished on the Range Rover. That means all filler work finished and high build primed.
To combat the boredom that is going to ensue I test fitted my new front lights. It certainly changes to front end! I'm reserving judgement until all of the paintwork is finished but it should look quite smart when it's done. Don't worry, they're all bolt on parts so the original bits can easily be reinstalled All of the original parts I have removed have been packaged and stored incase I ever decided to return it to standard. Anyway, here are the pictures Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

look better with the crystal lights, for some reason the range rover and defenders just don't look right with those head lights. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Long slog on the Range Rover bonnet this weekend - worth the effort though.
Completely removed all original paint and filled over the areas where I welded new metal in. The bonnet is now coated with a layer of Buzzweld rust encapulator as it's self etching and will protect against corrosion. Next will be high build primer before paint Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Bonnet coming along really nicely.
I'm not usually a fan of non standard lights on classics but those look great. Such a good build. Really enjoying this thread. Btw, did you see one of the Broad Lane RR TD5 Classics in LRM? I really fancy one. |

I did yes, its a very tempting conversion. Almost like it was meant to be really. I would imagine if the Td5 had been around 10 years earlier it may well have ended up being a factory option 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

A bit more progress today. I stripped the wings off and the scuttle panel. They were then prepped and painted in 2 coats of high build primer. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get them rubbed down soon. I think I'll get all of the panels in primer before top coating anything 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
