Oddly enough the Jimny has pretty much the same 80 inch wheelbase and 60 inch width of the original Willys MB jeep and the Series 1 80 inch Landy. It is very popular here in Germany with hunters, great for narrow forestry tracks, very maneuverable in tight spaces where my heavy 110 would get stuck. Think of it as a quad with a roof and heater. Perhaps Land Rover should go back to the original narrow, short and utilitarian design. |

All the hunting folk I know like more macho vehicles but I guess it could work if there are only 2 of you and the quarry isn't too big.
Would be funny to see! |

Very different kind of hunting in a German hardwood forest, mostly high seat for Roe Deer and Wild Boar by a lone hunter, normally the shot game is carried on a rear bumper rack. The hunting is done by members of the local hunting clubs rather than under the privilege of large landowners.

Oh I know. I've seen it a lot out there and similar in Scandinavia as well. They laugh their tits off at the English hunting community.

I hope Suzuki brings these to the US. They would sell pretty quick. Still holding out the new defender will be a proper 4x4 though.

Just test drove one and I’ve put down a deposit, ticks all the boxes for me and makes economic sense.

Theres a firm doing neat single cab conversions of the old shape model. I'm sure they'll be moving onto the new shape once the become readily available.

Each time I've seen one, I've thought that it's definitely next on my shopping list. Sadly, likely to replace my wife's X1 next and she's fallen for the Ford Ranger (unless she can find something higher!).
