I’m not sure what the threshold is, but they may be classed as a small volume manufacturer which gets them a bit of freedom with emissions. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

It's rumoured that Euro 7 will not be implemented until 2025 but in the meantime Euro 6 is a moving target with the latest version of Euro 6d to be introduced in 2019. Euro 7 seems to be of more concern to truck and bus manufacturers than it is to passenger vehicles who seem to be putting more development into electrification than into diesel emission controls.
I'm sure that those of us who are serious petrol/diesel heads will be able to enjoy our passion for some considerable time to come. It's good to know that Ineos intends to concentrate their development on petrol and diesel versions of their Projekt Grenadier and not even contemplating an electric version for the immediate future. No wonder, Ineos is in the oil business too, so electrical vehicles are a threat !

Still no word on where it will be built but I wouldn't hold my breath on it being here.
Ratcliffe is based in Monaco. Projekt Grenadier is being designed by MBtech, Stuttgart. Engines will be supplied by BMW. Made ? Even the spelling of Projekt is German. Eastern Europe would be my guess. |

I wouldn't bank on it being built in the UK either. Isn't Ratcliffe another one of the Brexit backers who has recently moved the remainder of his business overseas? Was on the Radio 4 news last night. Like Dyson ....

Eastern Europe is littered with car assembly plants, a number of them assembling more than one brand in the same plant so the assembly plant of choice for Ineos would not necessarily have to be one solely for the Grenadier but could be shared with other manufacturers thereby reducing set up costs.
The big question for me is how can Ineos make a projected 25,000 units per annum when JLR were making just slightly less at 20,000 units? Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |

No. In fact, he recently moved his business HQ back to the UK from overseas. He has, however, moved himself to Monaco. I think they have already ruled out having it made under contract, being very clear it will be built by them. Not sure why this decision has been announced so clearly when you look at the input from design, major components, etc?
Fingers crossed for Wales. |

I'd like a 110 size with rear fold-up and stand behind the front seats so then i could use it as a van and then as a family car when i want it would also be good if you could take them out if you wanted to, I had these put in my transit custom which also gave more leg room in the rear maybe something on these lines but prob only 2 due to width or option for 4 ie 2 more at the back of them

Yep in order to tax dodge he moved ineos to Switzerland but returned after 6 years as it he needed to secure fracking contracts in the UK. However Ratcliffe then moved to Monaco which apparently saved him £4 billion in UK taxes. 2 of his senior directors also holed up in Monte Carlo to avoid the taxman. |

Starting to think that this needs its own section under Defender Replacement...
https://ineosgrenadier.com/the-vehicle?utm..._campaign= Anyone else watched 'The Engineeing Task' video? It sounds an awful lot like a Defender. |

The chassis testing vehicle in that video has some very promising ground clearance. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
