Is there a 75w-80 meeting API GL4 for the td5 gearbox you recommend otherwise I might try the Millers trident you linked too as it's a lot cheaper than the landy stuff. |

Yes there is plenty these days. You can also use one that meets GL4 and GL5 as it just means it has the synchro friendliness of GL4 with the load bearing ability (ep) of GL5.
Have a browse through these https://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-670-75w-80-gear-oil.aspx Cheers, Guy Use the code DEF2 and get 10% Club Discount View Opie Oils Current Offers Here > > oilman's website: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ - register for news and offers email: sales@opieoils.co.uk phone: 01209 202944 |

I use a garden sprayer. The type that holds about 10ltrs and you pump up the pressure, then press lever on a wand to release fluid.

Are you putting the oil in the sprayer then and cleaning it out each time you switch oils? Are you just using the sprayer end or taking that bit off some how as I figured oil will be too thick?
This sort of thing https://www.screwfix.com/p/sx-cs5-white-bl...5ltr/7490x |

Yes that is the same type of sprayer. I empty it if required between jobs, and let the oil drain from the filling tube. But I don’t worry about cleaning it as all oils combine, not much gets left in it just residual bit. Also the oils on a Td5 Def aren’t that different to each other. I’ve just removed the spray tip off the end and bent the tube into more of a hook. Works really well.

Finally got round to ordering the gearbox oil for now, I've gone with the Millers Trident 10w-40.
