It's amazing what they charge. I'm guessing it's so that when the uber-rich spec up their latest toy so they just pay the listed price.

My suggestion would be for you to buy one from eBay. Take it down to your local blacksmith/metal fabrication workshop and get a simplified version made up.

A piece of flat bar bent 90 degrees with a section of square or rectangular box section cut and welded underneath and then holes drilled. you can spray paint at home from a rattle can.

Once they have the measurements return the original to the eBay seller.

Or maybe before buying just take a print out of the picture with you to find out a rough price. I'm thinking about £10 - £20 per bracket.

Just been on to Far Corners Help 'chat' thing

They said they are in stock and confirmed I do not need to remove seats to fit,

£115 for a 110 with spacers and fitting kit if carpeted.

If getting them 'made would cost £20 each, then for the extra £35 these are already done with bolts etc and save me trying to find a Fabricator etc.

Trouble is, do I risk it? if they have yet to deliver to another forum member? Seems I can paypal it so put in a claim if not but not ideal.

I'd agree for £35 not worth it if you get a whole set. Buy through ebay so you are protected.

Hello

Was going to buy through e-bay but they don't do the kit with extra washers? Spacers for soundproofing?

I guess these are just normal washers so worth buying the ebay ones?

As you may know I had a lot of work done at Far Corners. One things on the list was making the middle seats more comfortable and showed them the Exmoor Trim Hoffelle (?) seat risers. They said they were going to produce a complete new bracket that would do the same which I duely had fitted...

They work a treat in making the seats far more comfortable, unfortunately the folding mechanism is now a complete nightmare to operate, the higher bracket must mess up the geometry. I guess this is why they now produce an almost identical riser to the Hoffelle (which no longer seems ot be on the Exmoor website).

I guess all I can add is the theory of raising the front of the seat to tip the back backwards really does help makes seats far more comfortable. When the kids fall asleep now their heads fall back and not forward. James

I should add Kris at Far Corners is a genuine guy and I'd happily buy from them again. I think they just get themselves too busy on projects and future products etc and forget about customer services. Their communication is really lacking, which is such a shame, but seems all too common in the Land Rover market place. James

Just heard back from a Sam at Far Corners to say they are sending out another set as the couriers have lost them. Unfortunately, I’m now away tomorrow and will not be able to report back on their performance for a couple of weeks.

Will give them the benefit of doubt as I’ve had stuff I’ve sent go missing before.

Hello

I contacted Exmoor Trim and they no longer do the kit,

Think I will go with the FAR Corners ones then

They seem to suggest I don't need to remove the seats, the spec on the web says you do but speaking to them say not.

Odd

James looking at yours

The seats seam to fix to the brackets?

The Brackets off Far comers seem to just be brackets that keep the seats from going flat? Hence they said I could fit them by tilting seats forward?

Does than make sence

Surely you just unbolt the pivot brackets from the floor, then bolt the adaptors in place and reattach the pivots. I'd probably remove the pivot pins and seats first to make it easier, but I doubt it's strictly necessary.

It's a shame the don't fit in a DC since by all accounts they do improve the seat considerably.

You can't raise the front on a DC unless you also raise the rear, because the backrest fouls the bulkhead. The seat just gets higher, the angle doesn't really change.

Sorry didn't explain it very well. The ones I have replaced the whole original front bracket with a taller versions to achieve the same result. However this effects the tipping mechanism, so they seem to have changed the design to keep the orignal bracket and just 'pack' it higher with the spacer. So like Blackwolf says you just undo the bolts to the floor on the front bracket and bolt in the spacer. I hope this makes sense this time? James

Ordered Sunday,

Arrived today, look great quality and genuine LR bolts, plus the spacer is a job on piece of plastic not just plastic washers.

If this makes it more comfortable for kids in back money well spent.
