Hi,
I have only changed the valve on a ford transit, with obviously, the same 2.4 engine. There is a copper washer that comes with the valve (I bought a genuine ford part) for the point you have highlighted. There is also a copper washer on the nozzle that you have to remove from the valve - this is not replaceable and needs replacing as a whole however with a small wrap of PTFE tape on the threads as precaution, I have not had one leak yet. Hope this is of some help. |

I had a look at the box of the PRV, it is not DENSO but FEBI BILSTEIN (Part 46366).
So I was wrong in my previous post. On the photo's on the WWW there is always a copper washer included, but not with the PRV I recieved. is the washer (what should come with it) for the left side (fuel rail) or for the right side (return hose side)? Click image to enlarge |

The new washer goes up against the rail (inside), sealing your new valve.
The union that threads into the PRV, the part the return pipe clips onto has a washer as part of it i.e the threads are larger than the centre diameter of the washer. This is all from memory so if anyone else can confirm |

In a pinch re-use the copper washer by annealing it. Heat it red hot with soldering torch, allow to cool and flat off with fine abrasive paper (300 grit minimum) on a flat surface > 110 XS Double Cab
