Mine's had HD suspension from new, and from what I've seen when parking it next to other Defenders, it makes no difference to the ride height at all. I don't think it makes the ride quality harsh either, I actually think it's a bit of an improvement on the standard.
I think you're going to have to go down the 'longer spring route'. Pete |

fit some discover1 sprong isolaters they will give you an extra 10mm to trim the car up

all the std 90 xs have heavy duty rear springs (well mine did)
Great to put loads on...but makes the ride harsh (for back seat passengers!!) Mike |

Also worth a look are the spacers that Gwyn Lewis has. Available as 1 - 1.5 or 2 inch. I fitted the 1 inch all round on my 90. They replace the standard spring seats on top of the axle ( and dont cost too much) www.gwynlewis4x4.co.uk Hope that helps Mark |
