Does anyone know the difference or have experience with both the Diesel Ecomax and the Diesel Eclipse? They both seem to state they do the same but I think the eclipse is the newer of the two. Many thanks

Not seen that Eclipse before. Looks similar to Ecomax but aimed more at fleet operator maybe? Price is the same for both products, but the Eclipse doesnโ€™t seem to come in a consumer friendly measuring bottle 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

You can get the Ecomax in bulk too, and transfer it over to the measuring bottle.
The trouble is, yes, it's cheaper as such but unless you do a huge amount of miles I wouldn't be keen on storing it for ages No Guts, No Glory.

The reason I stopped using Ecomax is that the bottles kept leaking and, as you say, it stinks. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I always wear gloves filling up. Regardless someone usually always has DERV spilt all over the place and then got diesel on your hands all day

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I get funny looks climbing out of a defender and then using gloves to fill up. Nothing worse than diesel on your hands Mad 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I keep the bottle in the back upright and in a plastic bin bag, yiu'd be surprised how effective that is.
Tiniest spill of it on the bottle and you'd never even notice, it keeps it nice any clean from dust and rubbish too.

I find it so annoying how so many people will spill diesel all over the pump handle etc. What on earth do they do with it. Throw it out the nozzle I should think.

On a 90 which mine is I tend to use 25ml to 25L most often, so usually I'm running between 1/4 and 3/4 to full.

I wouldn't recommend swapping between standard diesel and Ecomax. I.e. Treating it and then not, then treating it again. And so on because everything in my opinion calibrates to a certain Cetain rating fuel, when I have gone back to regular DERV I find I notice the difference straight away and am not keen on it.

The other option is running on premium diesel only permanently but supply of that and where is a real pain.
Call me eccentric but I tend to stick only to Esso, usuallly because it's the most local and Millers additive.
I have never used independent or supermarket fuel, in the past occasionally but not any more for years.

It would be interesting to compare costs between premium diesel and standard with Millers. And the economy retuned. No Guts, No Glory.

I run the additive all the time, it's good stuff although gone up in price a little lately. Rolling Eyes
Still worth it though by far!

I also don't tend to go lower than 1/4 a tank either.
Thumbs Up
