Engine management light - pattern developing
One morning last November the engine management light came on approx 4 miles from home. I pulled over, called Landrover Assist who said it’s ok to drive to the dealers. Car sat for couple of hours then light went out.

Anyway, dealer had the car a couple of days, looked for moisture in diesel, sorted breather etc and I think changed the management chip(?). All ok since, until:

January 20th this year light came on again, 4 miles from home and within 100yds of last light, I carried on driving approx 20 miles. Car sat for couple of hours and light went out - all ok again. Called dealer and they said it should be fine but I could bring in in if I was at all worried.

January 27th this year light came on again, 4 miles from home and within 100yds of last light, I carried on driving approx 20 miles. Car sat for couple of hours and light went out - all ok again.

Must be a pattern - I realised that each evenining before light coming on I had filled (brim full) with diesel and car sat overnight with full tank.

Since then I only fill-up 3/4 full and no light since Idea !

Any views?? First, Last - or Different!

My engine management light came on twice. Main dealer plugged it in and said it was a faulty sensor on the fuel system. I cannot remember the exact one. Mine was the fourth one in with this. Seems there was a dodgy batch of sensors. Mine would go out within minutes of coming on. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Think mine was the fuel pressure sensor - sounds like what the dealer said. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
