I covered all my items, and the tub with Dintitrol, loading them up as I fixed them to seal the items together.

Yes, use the grease. That's a dissimilar metal corrosion inhibitor / block and also should be anti seize.
Apply is to all threads and or alloy to Stainless mating surfaces if present. Disposable gloves are useful too, it can be hard to get off and get everywhere. On a similar subject, have yiu considered a Nakatanenga Stainless bolt kit for the whole 90? KEEP CALM AND Drill ON 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

At the risk of being a thread hijacker....I have some Glwyn Lewis kit to fit which I inherited from prev owner. It’s a drop link removal kit with sumo bar. What will this actually do? Is it worth fitting when I do mainly road and towing with a bit of towing horseboxes across fields in summertime. Advice welcomed!

I've got quite a bit of Gwyn Lewis kit fitted and his garage services my Land Rover.
He's very approachable and helpful. Some of his products are for road going vehicles and some are for Challenge type competition vehicles. Why not contact him directly and get the answer straight from the designer and manufacturer of the kit? |

Did actually drop them an email before Christmas but not heard back, dont like to push as i’m not the customer so to speak. Didn’t realise they were a garage though, thats good as i can pop in next time i’m over in Oswestry...not too far detour.

Unless you need to swap the track rod end that is at the end of the drop link, i wouldn’t bother doing the swap for your listed use. It’s also a bit of a pig of a job, as to get the old drop arm off is not simple normally.
I would suggest listing on here and getting some money for it. |

Once these guards are fitted...
Will they need to be taken back off for when i do rust treatment for the chassis? |

Then I wouldn’t apply the grease. It’s either a waste, or just creating work to remove it. Just get the rust treatment under the brackets now, so only the shields need to be removed.
Well that’s my plan anyway. |

Cool thanks...
The front sheilds dont need the grease as much though i guess...as it gets bolted into the wheel arch insides anyway |

It changes the drop arm off the box to accept a track rod end rather than the normal defender ball joint. I fit them to off road vehicles but not the road going towing defenders I have. As above can be a pain to change the drop arms over. Not worth fitting unless you have issue with drop arm ball joint. I would be interested if you were looking to sell. They are worth a bit.
