Thanks - I like it
Yes, the Penman is mine too. Brilliant to tow, awkward to load (no drop tailgate on mine yet) and tricky to reverse. Build quality is very good and it feels as if it can survive anything you care to throw at it, which you'd expect really bearing in mind who the first owner was. There are a lot of GS ones on the market at present so I guess there's been another batch released. I specifically wanted the canvas tilt and there are very few of those around (haven't seen another for ages). Long term plan is to add a roof tent and supporting frame for extended camping holidays but at the moment it's simply a useful utility trailer for household / game keeping use. |

The GKN rapier missile trailer is equally brilliant, with the benefit of a bigger load bed (8'x4') and a drop down tail gate. The Rapier is due for replacement next year so there might be loads of them available in the not too distant future.
http://s236.photobucket.com/user/MGTurboMa...iler/story There are a fair few bits missing from this particular example |

Just had 3 of my WOLF rims blasted and primed. Started painting them today and realised that they are date stamped. In pretty much the same way as tyres are dot coded.
Oldest one among the three was made in week 04 of 1998 whilst the youngest was week 11 of 2013. They are stamped with the manufacturers name as well. In this case "Lemmers" It is not a Defender, it is a One_Ten |

Interesting, first time I hear of Lemmers making Wolf wheels. Lemmers are known to produce wheels for BMW. I have a set of genuine Wolf wheels and believe they were made in Spain. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

As a result of yesterday, I checked all 8 rims. Some were manufactured by Lemmers, others by HL2. The dates on the Lemmers rims coincide with the period when BMW owned Land Rover. All rims are tubeless. Dates are:
08/97 04/98 11/99 08/06 08/06 07/11 09/13 10/13 It is not a Defender, it is a One_Ten |

I bought last year a new set of genuine gloss black Wolf wheels (part Nbr VPLDW0095PVT) from my dealer and they also have HL2 stamped on. They are produced July 2015 (carry 0715 stamped production mark). In 2015 LR offered these gloss black HD Wolf wheels as a free of charge option on the Defender Black Edition. Looks like in later years they were not produced anymore, because when I ordered them here last fall, our importer had only 3 in stock and got a 4th one fresh from Solihull. All carrying the same 0715 stamp. My first set of genuine Wolf wheels dated back to 2008, carried the same HL2 stamp. Top of my head a genuine HL2 stamped Wolf wheel weighs about 16.0/16.5 kilos. Are those Lemmers wheels the same weight?
