Shed-loads of don't care owners in France. Parking Mrs Grenadier's new TT is a nightmare, it attracts a***oles in every carpark we park in. She has a scratch across her bonnet, thankfully faint (but once you know it's there...) where someone has clearly lifted their shopping bag across the bonnet as they manoeuvered around the car. We can see no other reason it appeared during a shopping trip.

Interestingly, the car in the photo arrived AFTER I parked (that's me to the rear left). So either they came in beside me, front first, and adjusted the car to the middle, or reveresed and simply got out. Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

Sorry Grenadier, but you are simply wrong. Scotty got his coordinates slightly wrong by a metre when he beamed that car down Razz

Greedy supermarkets provide small spaces to profit on more people (read the book called Tescopoly) . I don't blame anybody parking to minimise mum/elderly/kid door damage.

Unless it's a very old car park, planning regulations require spaces to have a minimum standard size of 4.8m x 2.4m. The problem is more likely that cars have, on average, got bigger since the standard was created.

It's worth reading Tescopoly, you'll find Tesco will often ignore planning regs, or just butter councils up and write their own rules.

You're right about car sizes though..... Unless we all buy a JIMNY Mr. Green Cool Laughing

Interestingly we have a new Lidl where we live and the parking spaces are much wider than the other supermarkets around here, it’s my go to place for food shopping now.

That's why I fitted rock sliders to mine. If they park too close then it's a refreshing clang when they open their doors 😁

I have noticed Defenders are narrow compared to most modern cars, even something like a newish "small" fiesta!

Tesco in Uttoxeter again last night (doing the Christmas booze run). I thought about pulling next to this Audi straddling the line next to it for a laugh.

On a vaguely related note, my parents live in what was a pub and there is still the old car park next to it, now just where they park. People take liberties and park there from time to time, and of late my folks have had a bit of grief with it. When I was a lad I’d go out and put boot polish on the door handles, something my grandfather encouraged me to do much to my mother’s annoyance. Anyway, I was there last night and someone had parked up and poked off, but I happened to be out there when they came back and gently (thankfully) asked the question. He said he had been in a hurry as he had just been to administer the last rites to a neighbour. I hadn’t noticed straightaway he was wearing a dog collar. As explanations go that was a belter.

No boot polish this time, just some embarrassment coupled with happy memories of 30 plus years ago and my then 70+ grand father using all his stealth to show me how to apply the boot polish for maximum effect. He flew in Lancasters and his constant message to me at school was ‘just don’t get caught’. 👍
