Great stuff, I love night riding, certainly makes you a better rider with having to focus. Also do a lot as I'm pretty busy on the weekends so have to rely on week nights which means dark ones in the winter.
The photo actually dumbs the brightness down, it's even brighter in the flesh. Here's one in the dark and still glowing! ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

x-isle - what is that? A banner or something? Are you linked to BikeTreks?
Currently got sodding flu so out of action but itching to get riding once better. Just bought a nice Park PCS-10 bike stand. Lovely piece of kit! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

Is that a CX frame Greeni? Looks like canti lugs? What kind of build are you planning? (Enjoyed that programme on recently about a guy building his perfect road bike - he went for a custom Rourke - you watch it?) I've got a Santa Cruz Nomad that I built up 3 years back, which is doing me nicely on the trails. But I borrowed a road bike recently to do my first Triathlon (Blenheim) and really enjoyed it - now I'd like to add a suitably lightweight bike to my stable, and have been toying with either getting a road bike, or building up a lightweight CX frame at under 8kg, as it might be more versatile for a big guy like myself. I.e. stick some knobbly tyres on for training/fun, and slicks for race days... Anyone know much about road v CX bikes who could advise? |

Don't know a lot about tri specific bikes but I rode my Spesh Allez Elite 2010 (fairly basic road bike) in my 2nd tri (first with road ride and run, first ever road race, first time I've ridden a road bike in a group) and managed to be the 20th rider out of 150ish and 19th overall last September.
I just rode as quick as possible and MTB hill climbing skills came in very handy. Always amusing overtaking someone on a £5k mega bike up a hill with a near base model road machine! I used MTB SPDs too - IMO the bike is pretty light as standard and works fine. Yet to "get" the mega money road bike thing. All mine goes on the "spoilt" MTB! Looked at CX bikes but like a soft roader, they are a compromise. Would rather have a "proper" road bike and MTB than a do it all thing. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

PCS-10 - Very nice! Top bit of kit.....! The piccy is a scan from a magazine, Orange put it on their Facebook page, it's where the piccy is linked from. Nothing to do with me, just found it funny when I saw it. Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

still struggling with pictures on here I like the MTBing as well have a Maxlite Kenisis frame I built up myself, rock shox reba race forks and lots of other light bits, dont get out enough and probably fit into the not fit category but dosnt stop me going down hills fast, or a long way on the level, just get off and walk if its up hill.
I dont think we should knock the fat blocks on expensive machines they help maintain the market and keep the manufacturers and dealer in business DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |
