MAF figures
Gents

Is it kind of normal to read (in this case g/s) a range of maf figures lets say between 13 jumping to 17 and coming down again to 13 and so on at idle speed? Idea

Thanks Puma 110" SW

I think that range is about right. I found that out recently when doing a test drive while further troubleshooting my resurrected Puma.

According to my buddy, my MAF sensor was shot as there were times I would get those values and at times it would just be stuck at 7 g/s sometimes even 2 g/s. He said that's why I still get a knocking sound when we go around as the ECU cannot determine the correct amount of air for the proper mix. He told me that as soon as I replace the MAF sensor with a new, functioning one, the engine should smoothen out.

I'm sure the more seasoned members can verify or correct this.

Have you cleaned the sensor?

In my case, we've cleaned it a few times now, still no bueno. It did work for a few weeks before packing it up though. That's why, even if it's new, we have determined that it's kaput.
