Nut and Bolt Rebuild of 1990 110
Don't expect to be back on the road until September 2020. I'm 3 weeks in at this stage. The bulkhead is in surprisingly good condition, the bottom is near perfect and only requires cosmetic work. Let me know what you guys think. Chassis is completely rotten. Must say I'm enjoying the strip down and looking forward to complete engine rebuild. The engine is a 200tdi from a discovery, no Idea what year. Code is 12L06926A if anyone knows year of production.

This project will reward me and my kids more than I'll ever put into it. Looking a bit green on purchase, but running. I think the vintage year fog was in my brain regarding getting back on the road, its sept 2019 not 2020 as in my original post.

The only thing is....I'm not repainting or replacing panels, this ones for me and mine - love the original weathered look. On that note the front and rear British Gas bumpers plus the winch are gone - not original.

Yup but someone still managed to dent it on offside. Not surprising as it was a British Gas Truck. Thanks for the good wishes from all. I've never owned one before and its my 17 (yesterday) year old daughters love of the defender that has brought me here. She loves them, though that may change once she drives one. Laughing

Very pleased to see you rebuilding this one.

1990 was the last year of the One Ten and first year of the Defender 110.

It looks like a very early Defender 110, if that is a 200Tdi engine, and if it was built in late 1990 (1991 Model Year).

The workaday hard tops are seldom restored as most people seem to want to restore a Station Wagon.

Good luck with it - and keep us posted. Thumbs Up

Didnt know that. It says 110 on the grill frame and was first registered in February 1990, the engine is not original and is a 200tdi out of a discovery. No idea if the gearbox or transfer box are original.
Have the bulkhead off now so down to the engine on a rolling chassis.

It's got very original looking Tdi badges on the wings so even if the engine isn't original, it's still likely to have always been a 200tdi. Darren
