There are also differences in the gauges - on a 300tdi, anything other than the correct gauge shows it as running hot

Cheers Grouse, The Defender was originally a 200Tdi now with a 300Tdi engine transplant, temp gauge readout seems to be ok now and about what i would expect

Got a fan, themostatic switch and fused relay all for just over £60, made up some brackets to fit the fan to the radiator, all sorted, result.

I found 6 different sender options when I did an engine swap.

6 different types, Amazing, if i was doing it again i think i would try to match the guage and sender, but that wouldn’t be as interesting
