I fitted the power unit in behind the drivers speaker (plenty of room in here and it is easy to get a live from the fusebox or feeding the cable through to the centre console for fitting to the cig lighter or the radio, I have an alpine bluetooth unit and the tomtom usb power converter box in to the right of the speaker) and fed the cable out and up the right side of the dash. The power lead then tucks in behind the top of the dash and into the windscreen mount. There is plenty of room as I have run the cable for the scangauge along the same route.
Originally I wanted to do the same as you and go through the top, but found out that the dash doesn't sit flush again with the power lead exiting through the top as it is a tight fitting unit. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |
