Thanks lads for your kind words, means a lot to us. hard to believe its been 24 hours since I lost my pal. Big Cry
You lads have wonderful dogs, and well done for giving rescue dogs a home. Sometimes people don't think to do that, pay a few quid for a pup, but you can give a home to dog that needs a friend and a home.
one thing I joked to my dad 3 years ago, " I should have trained prince to do this, everytime I had a takeaway. Laughing

that's a great video.

And I am a firm believer in recuing. To many dogs need homes, and too many puppy farms... When we move, im hoping to get a bit more land, and start up a rescue center ------ for Dogs and Defenders Cool Wink Regards

How do you all transport your dog's in your defenders? I have an 11 month working cocker. From a young age I used a fabric cage with metal frame in the load area. She didn't like it from the start but I though she may get used to it - needless to say, she hasn't.
I was thinking of raising the floor, as many owners do anyway, and using a cargo barrier.
What do you all do?

Mine usually race to see who's going to get the front (leather) seat. Not that it makes much difference all 5 seats are leather! They're actually much nicer to clean (not that I do).

For what it's worth they came out of an L322 and only cost me £140, currently up £400 having sold the front two and rear bench seats. Laughing

Both love the front seat if in for a long drive. If we're going far then usually build up behind the front seats so they have a flat platform. Tali will then usually fall asleep with her head hanging over the cubby box.

I've built a shelf system in the back so can always chuck a small mattress in the boot if I do need to take 5 people. Usually they just sit on people's laps. Ed

Should say this is in a 300Tdi 110 USW. Or they both end up on the front seat (they are quite a lot more comfortable and deep than standard seats).

Laughing they look at home on that front seat!
Mine is a little restless at the moment and won't sit still. I have tried her in the front but she wants to move about too much - it does distract me from driving.

I have two options. Mine have two water proof dog beds which are either put on a custom shelf which sits across the wheel arches in my USW load compartment. I have a piece of Unistrut under the wooden base (which is fixed down to the load restraints on the wheel arches). This has a twin seat belt arrangement fixed through the floor and into the Unistrut (got the seat belt thing off eBay and it came out of a BMW 3 series). Both Dogs have harnesses and a seat belt lanyards which fixes into these.

The other option is a hammock style thing (got it off Amazon) which hangs between the front and rear head restraints. The dog beds sit on this and I use the same lanyards plugged into the rear seat belts. Obviously no good if you need three/four/five seats.

As a side note, we have two Labradors. We had tried numerous harnesses but have found the Julius K9 type of harnesses are
really good.

I should have mentioned that I drive a 90 hardtop so it's just the load area.
My concern is, maybe the same as yourself Rashers that if she was free in the back and we were to have a bump, she is in trouble.

Its a massive void with out a dog when you have spent a good number of years with one Sad If only i had filled a few of the laughs i had with prince with the cat. You lads would have laughed. Cat shouts for food, and i say to prince, " go and sniff his arse" prince goes and chases the cat Laughing yes he did sniff his arse too, and the cat used to bat him with his paw. Also they did have fun together. Chasing each other when they were younger Very Happy Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I have two labs and they go in a trans k9 crate bolted to a ply shelf in the back of a 110 usw

Shelf gives some storage space. Trans k9 box wasn’t cheap but will hold its value if I ever resell. We also crate the labs in it in the tent when we camp. The wire haired jack just rides up front
