Bloody Ubers,
You can tell by the way they drive, They sit at lights going through their mobile phone, they have no idea where they're going, so slow down, speed up, slow down, change lane... That and they crowd the ranks meant for drop offs. The only time i got an uber (or i ordered should i say), the driver was so bad that he kept stalling the car and couldn't speak English. it got so bad i considered taking the wheel... Just had some !"£$%^&*() Sit at a traffic light, turned green, sat there for five seconds before pulling away, then he changes into the left lane, i go to overtake, but no he pulls out in front of me into the right lane, come to roundabout, right lane is naturally for straight over, right, or back on yourself. he takes a left cutting off everyone in that left hand lane and speeds off at 50MPH. then you get these idiots who park in the centre of the road waiting for their customer, yeah great, and they're happens to be about a dozen or so of them down the side of the station which is strictly for cab ranks. Lots of my mates go on how good it is, but you get some foreign chap who can't hold a conversation, has no idea where he is or where he's going. My mates talk about how affordable they are in comparison with minicabs & black cabs especially. But honestly i think its where they don't plan ahead and don't think about organising a taxi before going out. At least black cabbies, know what they're doing and will generally have a decent chat with you... I think they're worth every penny. Quality over quantity. Foggy, grey, morning rush hour and I'm turning right onto a busy dual carriageway. I'm waiting in the central reservation space because a vehicle waiting to turn right in the opposite direction is blocking my view of the fast flowing on coming traffic. To my alarm, not one, but two, cars appear on my left hand side in the central reservation both like myself trying to turn right. Crazily, they start edging blindly into the outside lane of the dual carriageway ………… me, I'm sat there with nowhere to go, while two idiots (both unlikely, I guess, to have taken their driving test in this country) put my life at risk! Rant over! It started with a kiss, never thought it would come to this. SIII CSW Safari, limestone, (JAC 914N). Where is she now? It's not a car, it's a way of life! |

Would someone explain to me what planet the shadow home secretary lives on please?
Now the police should not use 'tactical contact' in the fight against crime committed by riders on mopeds. Read this Now this shadow home secretary thought police officers got paid £30/year. So what next diatribe from this shadow home secretary? Police must not exceed speed limit when chasing criminals? Police CS gas to be changed to laughing gas? Police armed officers to have their firearms changed for spud guns? Now in my world the job of the home secretary and the shadow one is to support the police. If a criminal gets hurt whilst knowingly committing a crime I would say tough luck. Brendan |

Did the "shadow" Home Secretary come up with some alternative ideas for stopping criminals on motorbikes/mopeds?
No, I thought not...... When the Labour Party appoints Diane Abbott as Shadow Home Secretary, you have to suspect it is just a little short of talent! |

She's an absolute bloody idiot.
However there is a much bigger scandal here. Brendan reads the Evening Standard! Does the Yorkshire Post not give hourly updates on Cara Delevingne? |

Hey what have you got against cara delevigne?!
I used to read metro sometimes only for the good deed feed and rush hour crush, but evening standard is grim reading most of the time. In the news this morning was a woman who was a victim of grooming at 15 and gave birth to the child. They are allowing the “father” to be allowed to be in the child’s upbringing. How is that justice? How do you go about telling your child why your parent is in prison?! Also of note is that he got 35 years. 35 years! Not harsh enough. It costs about £25k annually to keep him locked up. That’s £875k over the term of his sentence. I say bring back corporal punishment, how many people would go round committing crimes if they were Public ally mocked? Put them in stocks and let the victims have their vengeance. Flog then, throw mouldy fruit in their face etc. Ghandi said an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. I say a finger for a finger makes it even. Also bring back hard Labour, make them work for their freedom, put them to use somewhere, make them recoup the costs that us honest citizens pay for. It may be against their “human rights” but they have broken the laws of man and disregarded our rights, they have no right to claim the same rights that protect us law abiding citizens. Even the Geneva convention recognises that if you break the laws of war and conduct terrorist activities, you have no rights to the protection that the convention provided. /\ someone with some common sense in this world that appears to be plagued with do gooders
as you say the good citizens of this world are having the taken out of them because they're easy targets. Fookers of this world not only get away with murder but when they try and kill someone they get off scott free to try again...... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-46370271 if the roles were reversed I'm sure at the least he'd have been banged up for racial hatred? |

Caterham,
I've noticed you have repeatedly mentioned 'do gooders' in a derogatory manner across a number of threads and I'm intrigued. Are you talking about the professional kind like police, NHS, fire service, care services or perhaps charity workers and volunteers? Or do you just dislike everyday folk that do good deeds? Not having a dig, just genuinely interested as it's a very contrary POV that I've never heard before. |

I'm not sure I can easily put it into words but what I can say is I'm not having a dig at the emergency services - I think generally they don't a wonderful job and in many cases don't get the credit they deserve. Hopefully below will give you an idea of where I'm coming from;
- the numpty who thought this guy should walk free after trying to kill someone; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-46370271 - the people who think it's a great idea to give immigrants free houses in London at huge expense when we already have an issue with homeless on our streets and because they're not immigrants they appear to be entitled to jack . - the moron who suggested this is wrong and has initiated an investigation into the police; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-l...-in-london - the muppets who seem to think certain types of marriage is normal - now I get it that we may have to accept certain things but in my book (I might just write one actually ) just because we have to accept it doesn't make it normal behaviour, - the clown who thinks it's a good idea to ban someone from driving after they've been caught following a high speed pursuit with police after stealing a car and don't even posses a driving license? they were effectively banned anyway so why the hell would banning them some more be deemed a punishment (what's wrong with capital punishment? does that clear things up and just muddy the waters more? |

OK gotcha. So it's government, judges, CPS, legal system, laws etc. Not what I'd consider do gooders but now I know where you are coming from.
