Odd power loss
Hi lads, I've an odd intermittent power loss on my 07 2.4 tdci, it drives fine most of the time but the odd time it looses power, as if it looses pedal with no power and struggles past 70kph but if I switch it off and on again it drives perfectly! I've changed all filters twice but it's still the same? There's no smoke, no blowing turbo noises either? I've replaced potentiometers in the truck accelerator pedals before but they gave a different symptom to this?
Any ideas?
Cheers

Have you already searched the forum for VCV-valve? Sounds like a fuel-related bug. Is the error present in both cold and warm conditions?

Mine was doing this. Eventually traced to slightly sticky actuator arm for turbo. Only sticking on last wee bit. Disconnected arm and worked it past sticky bit for a few minutes, that and a bottle of turbo cleaner in tank and it’s been fine.

Check the harness that runs to the turbo modulator, all the way from the ecu to the turbo. It is very common for this to chafe and short to the engine.
