Looks like your missing the raised bracket. However even with the raised bracket, you need to drill through the door for the raised bracket to bolt through the back plate Click image to enlarge The mantec kits on eBay come with everything for £120, where did you get yours from? |

I don't have that raised bit on mine which was a genuine LR one from Dan. It's too dark to get a good photo but the rubber bit appears to be fitted to the back of the swing away plate and not the door plate.

Interesting.
So you got both baseplates in the same package?? Mine is a Land Rover part from Duckworths although I suspect they are actually the same overstock being sold on eBay and originating from the MOD auctioneers as they also have the NATO stock number on the box. Manufactured by Mantec. Have to say I'm more than annoyed with the part and the manner in which it was supplied. The adverts that Duckworths have placed here and including on their own website say they include full instructions, which they don't, and when I contacted Dan yesterday he has replied with the same MOD document as mentioned here which frankly I am sure they do not have the rights to distribute. Perhaps Dan would like to comment for others. Click image to enlarge Stu... 2013 Aintree Green 90 XS SW 2.2 Puma |

Exactly the point I'm making. It seems that Duckworths are selling ex MoD stock passing it off as LR stock. There is half of the rubber catch on the back of the swing plate and the other should be bolted to the door plate. Stu... 2013 Aintree Green 90 XS SW 2.2 Puma |

Bought mine at Peterborough show and still haven't got round to fitting it, I'll have to go in the garage this this weekend and see what's actually in the box

Not sure this helps at all..!
The swing away part did have LR stamped on it and the back plate has mantec on it (which I didn't particularly worry about as I knew mantec had made them for JLR historically... or so I was told). I did receive all the parts needed to fit mine, minus the instructions Click image to enlarge |

Probably the same as the rest of us that have them from the various sources of Ex MoD stock Moneypit.
If you look at the pictures shared by Dan in the original post you can see the raised bracket used on the half door. Marked red are the parts concerned with the second part of the rubberised catch and where I think it should be bolted, marked green is the corresponding part on the reverse of the swing plate. However I will add that with the raised bracket, the whole swingaway doesn’t sit flush to the door...without it, it probably will

It seems to be noted in your sellers details that they include both baseplates for each eventuality. I think you have done the obvious thing in realising that to fit the buffer/retainer you need to sit back from the door plate however I think you have inadvertently (or knowingly) used the plates for both installations. I used both so the load is spread when pulling the door open...otherwise you rely on the 3 of the 4 bolts of the raised plate ( the top right bolt can’t be fitted as it fouls the central locking mechanism )

This is the part I am interested in as it seems to me to be in place to latch in the swing arm when closed and should prevent rattling.
