It looks to be fitted the exact same way as mine! Very odd.

If you assembled it correctly. With the clutch master cylinder screw disconnected ie nut taken off and the pedal free you will find the spring will pull the pedal to the floor. It should do this as this is how it assists the clutch action. If it does not do this the spring is fitted incorrectly. Hope this helps.
