pickles I wonder if it would sound very close to one of your super v8s. Be funny mind people waiting to see it, and it turns out to be a land rover defender coming around the corner. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Mine's got a 4.6 TVR engine as well and it entertains me seeing petrolheads looking around wondering what is coming and then the look of confusion and bewilderment on their faces when they realise that it is a Land Rover making the noise.

Inigo have you ever done a petrol head in your defender? As I can see that been very, very funny! There was a vid of the special 70th V8 doing a new Honda civic type R off the line and getting the run. Still not sure if it was done of the camera like, as the vtec woke up and the civic went past the defender. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I did have a traffic light incident a while back, japanese hatchback thing with a big exhaust that was substantially quicker than I had anticipated. I hadn't meant to, but there was no-one in the outside lane and it allowed me to overtake quite a long line of cars before the second lane dropped.
I found out that my soft limiter (which is supposed to cut off fuel at 6500 rpm, doesn't) there was an awful lot of noise and then some backfires and I was committed to get past him before the lane ran out. Terrifiying and I think he was beaten by noise rather than speed. I will be avoiding doing that again. |
