Just thought I'd post this - no affiliation and have not actually ordered yet so cant confirm on quality... but I am trying to upgrade the interior lighting in the 90 with LED festoon bulbs and a LED strip light over the rear door. Issue I found is everything I could find is "cool white" in colour and I find it really harsh... I have some cheapo festoon bulbs in at the moment and everytime they pop on they freak me out! I find it really jars with the old fashioned feel of the defender (even my 65 plate!)
I then tried to hunt down some "warm white" LED strip lights and all I could find is flexible stuff to stick on places, not a rigid bar... until I found this place. https://www.atenlighting.co.uk has warm and cool white colours for all their options of festoon and strip lights as well as other types of lights. I'm about to order some so after they arrive I'll update on the quality etc. Mike |

I replaced the interior lights with LED festoons off eBay all worked brilliants but you're right very stark. All three have blown within two years.
I might give these a try, which festoon did you go for? The original festoons were off Ebay with a resistor to stop the glow... replacements are from www.conrad-electronic.co.uk. not arrived yet.

That's a different site? £25 for 3 bulbs delivered is a little steep for me.
I'll try the original Aten festoons, not quite so bright but 3 delivered for £15. https://www.atenlighting.co.uk/6led-37mm-pfestoon.html James MY2012 110 2.2TDCi XS SW Orkney Grey - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43410.html MY1990 110 200TDi SW beautifully faded Portofino Red - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post743641.html#743641 MY1984 90 V8 Slate Grey - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post744557.html#744557 Instagram @suffolk_rovers |

Hello
I have the mud console interior lights in my 110 https://www.mudstuff.co.uk/mud-led-interior-lamp.html You can choose either white or red... A whole lot better than the standard offering which up until I changed I have a big led section of leds in the lens such as this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/White-Car-Inter...rk:20:pf:0 It worked ok, but the Mud unit looks factory and imho better |

I've just fitted three of those festoon LED's from Conrads and they're (literally) brilliant. A very nice warm white light with no low powered glow like the cheap ones that they replaced.

LRA - it was your thread that have me the heads up!
Naka light would be good... red light handy when shooting at night to stop you losing your night vision but ££ to fit 2 of them! |

I also have the MUD ones. Very bright. Indeed, sometimes it feels too bright. However, the kids love the red light Adjustments: Startech Steering Wheel | MUD Interior LED lights | Wipac crystal headlights with osram nightbreaker bulbs | Alpine CDE195BT
To do list: Outside rear facing LED lighting | subwoofer and speakers |

festoon bulbs turned up today - as did the led strip lights.
The LED lights are very slim, bushed aluminium finish. Opaque lens and there is no "dotty" light output, it looks like a solid bar of light. Not a harsh white either, but not super yellow either... pretty evenly balanced. For the price I am impressed. Unfortunately cant test in the 90 as its in getting warranty work done this week. will fit at the weekend (festoons) and test the output of the strip lights as well. Fitting them might be a little later... I fired one of the strip lights up off a 12v battery in the shed, light output seems pretty good, not blinding bright but I anticipate 2 of them would be required or 1-off 1m long one. my plan is to run one on each side of the load space in the rear on the mud plastic panels. Aten festoons not quite so successful. Delivered promptly, fitted in dark, only got a faint glow? Then realised the interior lights were only coming on when the door was open, close door and lights go off??
Think I may have more of an issue than just bulbs? Further more now lost stereo and clock, so must have blown a fuse? How you blow a fuse changing a bulb is beyond me, but should probably have a look in the light next time. Will update my review when all working properly.
