Hello Colin, welcome to the forum and congratulations on the (perhaps) imminent new arrival.
If you quite like Orkney or don't mind it, keep it to yourself and have a hissy fit to your dealer and LR Customer Care over the phone. Request some 'goodwill compensation'. We had a few problems with our 2007 (only the usual in fact) plus a few dealer specific issues and got about £3,500 in total to spend on LR stuff. They don't give you the cash but you can spend it on anything - servicing, extended warranty, LR Gear or accessories. You wouldn't believe the sh*t we got. I exhausted the LR Gear catalogue, got 5 x BFG ATs, servicing, extended warranty, mats, dog guard, snorkel + fitting, LR bike, picnic hamper, 2 mugs, key rings, roof box, roof bars. In fact so much i've forgotten. I do wish i'd got a winch though. My 3 year old son keeps telling me we need a winch for the Land Rover. |

When I ordered mine I was told it was slightly darker than Stornoway but I haven't seen it so take that as you will...

Yes - seen one in the Orkney...I thought "that Stornaway looks really good in this light"...then the dealer told me it wasn't stornaway... I preferred it.

I do like the slight darker fit, but be aware that you have to point your repair shop to Jaguar paint whenever you have repairs. Due to Fukushima there are quite some colors out of stock, ie red also, and no saying yet when they are producing the pigments again.

As correctly pointed out by ninety, Land Rover have lost several colours as a result of the tragedy in Japan.
Namely Stornoway, Firenza, Baltic blue and santorini. These have been replaced by orkney, buckingham blue and sumatra black. Only problem is with the red, no replacement as yet. As for Orkney, weve got the colour splash in the dealership now and its actually one shade lighter than stornoway. My F2 is in Stornoway and having put it up against the car I can confirm its one shade lighter as well. Its a nice colour so Im sure you wont be disappointed. Our new Defender is actually coming in Orkney. |
