This popped up as an advert on my instagram. It looks like it might solve a few defender ice issues?

Looks good, will far outwight functionality of dedicated 1DIN units as nothing will complete with the direct iPhone usability.
Good price too and the value being the phone can easily be removed. An iPad functionality would be good too, but due to size that's a bit more tricky. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

It's a shame that it doesn't seem to have DAB

Agree!! it would be nice to have DAB ... but it seems to do the same as the unit I have at the moment ... only with a bigger screen Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 |

I like the idea of this, shame it doesn’t have reversing camera support, would have seriously considered it for my double cab if it had. Actually whilst I’m making a list of features I want it to have, how about wireless phone charging on the holder so we don’t have wires hanging down the dash?

I had a good play with one of these a week or so back. They are cheaper here, under €120 from Halford type places so a bit less online.
Sound is very good and the Pioneer app is handy because you control the units settings from it..even the background colours. It looks smart too...actually one of the nicest looking headunits you can look at imho. But....you don’t really gain much over a normal unit other than a phone holder which I think is going to send things across the cabin as soon as a Defender hit a speed bump. It’s good that it’s adjustable and you can have in portrait or landscape but that adjustability means plastic moving parts that are pretty flimsy. It pulls out to useful distance (adjusts) from the unit but then getting to 2 of the hard buttons is blocked by the phone and I bet from a Defender sitting position people will end up knocking the phone out it’s cradle when going for the buttons. Since you control most by the phone screen it doesn’t make sense unless you really want a small hard button for the 4 functions. Nice idea, but for me I decided on a different Pioneer head unit and a RAM mount. |
