You can send stuff back up to 30 days after you bought it if you don't like it / want it.
You end up paying the postage but you'd still be better off. |

If the items are undamaged, they can't really not take them back.....
Their returns policy states 14 days so you're still within that. |

Unfortunately regardless of damage to the wheel the boss will have marks from splines when fitted well within his right to not take it back sorry to be the bearer of bad news

Playing the devil's advocate, TMD take it back and then sell it on to another Def2 member. That Def2 member opens the box, which is no longer factory sealed and notices some fitting marks on the wheel and/or fitting kit. Member then complains both to TMD (or any other retailer) and on the forum about the company selling used products as new. I have no doubt forum members and the purchaser would be none too impressed in that situation.
Had JB not fitted it, I would support the return it advice but the moment it is fixed to the car, I'd suggest it is no longer in the condition it was supplied. As for the clothing analogy, if you return clothes that have signs of use, the retailer will refuse a refund. Thus a similar principal. Personally, I'd have approached it the same way Jim_Bean did... if I've fitted it to my car, it is no longer new; therefore, take it on the chin and sell it as preowned, albeit nearly new. |

That doesn't overrule the legal rights a purchaser has under the Consumer Contracts Regulations though.
You can't try shoes on without slightly marking the soles - so they are no longer in "factory" condition. However retailers are obliged by law to allow you to send them back for any reason within the allowed timeframe. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Agree with Martin, it's something you effectively have to absorb as a business seller.
