Forgive me James, but that isn't a Defender.
Would be nice to see it with the usual five fold-up steps. |

Reminds me a little of my old 110, now living in Holland!
Click image to enlarge This had a 200tdi from a Discovery, but was otherwise original. The bulkhead was fantastic as the body panels solid in comparison to later vehicles. I should have kept it.......! |

Sorry for being a pedant James, but early One Tens are my "thing".
There are a lot of "otherwise original" One Tens out there, far fewer completely original. If anyone is thinking of buying one, pay the extra for completely original. It will pay you back. |

Not at all Slidey, every day is a school day! It is these pedantic details that I find interesting.
So should it be a One Ten or is 110 OK? A One Ten enthusiast will always tell you that that is what Land Rover called them in all their literature, and continued to call them that even after the Defender was launched.
They never retrospectively called them 110 (despite the bonnet badge) or Defender. On eBay, Workshop and Parts Manuals of the period are for sale, which say "Ninety, One Ten and Defender" Unlike Series One, where Rover issued a Dealer bulletin, officially re-naming Land Rovers built between 1948 and 1958 as "Series One". However, many people use 110 as shorthand, and as it's you, I'll try to stay calm. |
