My leak was also as fast as yours but it also evaporated off that it never made a puddle and could not easily be seen.
Mine was the bottom corner of the radiator from the engine bay side which was only seen once on a lift with strong light. I suggest you do the same just to be sure before panicking about thee head. Puma 110 - gone Series III 1973 - going strong |

Thanks! Going to Schalk Burger for a pre-trip inspection on Tuesday. Will put on the lift and run a pressure test. -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Nick, went to the mech this morning. We ran a pressure test, and it is definitely leaking somewhere, but no sign of the coolant fluid anywhere
If there isn't any exhaust gases in the coolant then it's good news - at least it's not the head gasket! But I'm with you on the leaking seams when they get hot - the more I spend time under the landy, the more shocked I am at the horrendous build quality -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Hi,
It seems that this problem was the HEAD GASKET. I have changed it and now done 1000kms with no more fluid loss. The gasket did appear to have some marks showing tracking between the front of no1 piston and the water ways. It is amazing that I drove with this coolant loss for 20,000kms and never overheated - according to the gauge anyway. Puma owners be warned!!! And by the way it is quite a job to do the head gasket. Cheers Nick |
