... Defender's skin i'd say. I have some rust bubbling under the paint on the A-pillars of my Oct 2007 def. Now, i have read several threads talking about long term warranties and so on, and i haven't been able to understan if the bodywork has a longer warranty than the mechanics. My car is obviuosly out of mechanical warranty but if it is true that there is a 6-years warranty on the bodywork i might still have hopes. Now the question: where do i check IF i have this warranty or not? Please help me figure this out.
Thanks in advance guys |

Yes the anti corrosion warranty is 6 years and its a perforation - so if its coming from underneath you should be covered
do a search - they sometimes put up some resistance Mike |

Great to know. My 07 is rusting on both doors and rear...all from under the paint and not on a join. I will pop in to Land Rover next week. Wish me luck!
Thanks for the tip...I had no idea! Cheers mark She's not old...just older |

Key point with the six year anti corrosion (perforation) warranty is that you are supposed to get the truck inspected once a year. If this hasn't been done (and the book stamped) be prepared for some dealer wriggling.
Although if you use Lancasters in Reading you should be ok - they did the rear door on my 2000 TD5 CSW after four years without the stamps. John http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk 2011 Tdci 110 CSW XS |

as I mentioned on another thread, our 08 is in again for corrosion this time on the windscreen surround, rear gutter and L/H rear capping, they will repair it just stand your ground if the dealer can't be bothered to get the go ahead from LR 2.4 90 XS
