I'm not going to lie, I'm buying one of these as it's everything the new defender should be and won't. Looks like a buying price of sub £15k 👍 |

I really like the look of that!
Basic/functional/affordable and and quite retro in a boxy 80's way like the old SJ. Also capable, maybe a tiny bit small to be useful though, it must have less space than a 90? Land rover take note, although I suspect they are too "premium" these days to bother... |

Let's face it it's going to be. Even the outgoing Defender wasn't exactly cheap, compare the base spec commercial models with the likes of Toyota pickups and you got far more for your money in the Japanese stuff. It'll be some sort of Wrangler competitor with prices to match. |

As for the Jimmny it looks good (aside from that colour), from the front it looks like a baby G-Wagen, the grill shape especially.

I'd love to hear Geraldine McGovern's views on the new Jimny. I can imagine a withering put-down made up of a lot of pretentious twaddle.

I think it looks great, and as already said is likely to be more like a Defender than the new LR Defender!
Looks like it’s not out until next year (the Suzuki) so l’ll get a test drive then. |

Looks like they have engineered in some more Defender traits ....

Love the new Jimmy, my daughter had a previous generation one, thrashed it, never cleaned it, treated it like & it just went on & on & on...fantastic little trucks.
I think JLR should do what Suzuki did with the SJ/Jimny in reverse, they just shrunk the Defender design & hey presto you have a miniature Land Rover...JLR should bag one of these, make it bigger & hey presto you have the new Defender! Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains |
