Front wheel bearings?
2005 Td5 110 CSW.
When jacked up and checking pre-MoT, one front wheel can be rocked very slightly when held top and bottom. Is this likely to be the hub bearings, or is it more likely to be the smaller bearings in the swivel housing? I didn't want to go to the bother of replacing the hub bearings only to find that it was the smaller ones further in.
Thanks.

Most likely you''ll need to reshim the upper swivel bearing.

Get someone to press the brake pedal while you rock wheel. If it rocks whilst brake on it will be your swivels, if only when brake off, it will be wheel bearings. Wheel bearing movement will also be in all directions. So top to bottom, and side to side, swivel just top to bottom.
