I believe that Owatrol oil is good to wipe over Land Rover bodywork to give it an “oily rag” appearance.

Great result, well done. When are you going to fit it?!

I've ordered the replacement glass and as many genuine rubber seals as I could find. Should hopefully be a job for the weekend.

So it was your wife that made you see sense!
Two questions: 1. Are you going to buy the threequarter tilt and hoodsticks to go with it? (I'm biased ) Click image to enlarge And second questioin, will you make it to the Pub Meet on Wednesday night? |

Yes, I will very likely get a 3/4 canvas for it. They do look right; like a proper Land Rover. I think that the cab is going to look great when cleaned up a bit to match the other original bits. The roof looks like it's weathered down to the alodine.
I still have that set of Avons on my to-do list as well! Unfortunately I have been working away from home every Wednesday and Thursday and will be until at least Christmas. Otherwise I would have been to one of the recent pub meetings. Let me know if there is something that isn't midweek. |

Many years ago I had a S11 truck cab 88. Being a basic meccano set bolt together cab I left the roof bolts out and fitted it using over centre clips.
The roof panel fitted the pick up bed when not in use. Sorry no pics this was during the 1970's. Whatever have fun |

Picked up all the rubber seals this afternoon and made a start on the strip down and cleaning. Need to do something different with the sliding window seals because other than the bottom ones, the originals are still okay and are a bright silver metal channel with felt inside. I really don't want to lose these.

...and after a light application of Chemical Guys V36 and a wipe over with ACF-50.
