New look grill and headlight surrounds on 90
Hi All, thinking about removing my A bar for a while to see if I prefer the look without, but the owner before me fitted additional spots on it, and has cut the grill to allow for the spot bowl, so I will need to replace the grill, maybe I should try a different look grill and headlight surrounds for a 'new look'. Any suggestions or pics of things people have done here, and any issues? I guess its pretty straightforward?

In my opinion I think the OEM look is the best for your defender.
I f you have not done so change the headlamps to wipac crystals with uprated lamps and a headlamp relay.
This also improves the look of the Defender and also improves the lighting no end. 2016 Defender Landmark 90

I would agree with above - the standard Defender grill is the best IMO. Replacement grill and headlight surrounds are available as a 3 part set on eBay for about £30 so much cheaper than a lot of aftermarket grills as well Matt.

Most of the grills I am seeing on ebay are black? Are they all black from new and need to be sprayed grey?

Both my surrounds look like this.....rather rusty

I am assuming that is not part of a new headlight purchase and is some sort of surround I need to order separately? I dont want to undo it to examine it as it might fall apart, is that what is holding the unit secure?

ciorrect, thats the retaining ring and wouldnt come with the replacement grilles or a new headlight.

they are only a few quid however and you can buy a new headlight bowl with the retaining ring for £12.

just google "defender headlight bowl"

You can also buy stainless versions of the rings (often called bezels) for around £30. Darren

Yes I fitted stainless bezels to mine (black powder coated) - still like brand new.

Out of interest, what a bar are you thinking of removing? If a soft one I may be interested in taking it off your hands Whistle
