That's what AI is for blackwolf.

It's going to be the savior of all our problems.

Saying that, I was brought up on a pig farm and AI when I was a kid was a completely different thing to the AI they all harp on about now.......

I don't think that kind of AI (and the bloke with the large glove) wouldn't do much to help our future children - except keep them in pulled pork Thumbs Up

Whilst we are on the subject of children, the school run is in full swing again. The poor things must be dropped off right by the gates causing utter gridlock šŸ˜

"Can I get" Mad What is that about? People seem to be saying more and more when asking for stuff in shops/cafƩs/pubs etc.. only the person serving "can get" what you are asking for!

Very irritating, well to me anyway!

End of whinge

ā€œBut thereā€™s a problemā€

The killer line in all scripts from reality television programmes on Discovery / National Geographic tv channels etc etc. shortly followed by ā€¦

ā€œWill he/she make it?ā€

There are some cracking real life shows on these channels spoilt by the artificial tension caused by a Director or Producer trying to make things more difficult, exciting or dangerous than real life ever is.

Not to spoil things, but they always get over the problem and they always make it Thumbs Up

Why are so many on-line newspaper-articles now filled with 50% Twitter posts? What do they teach young journos at Hack College? Can they not write an interesting, fact filled article without padding it out with the mundane thoughts of some B-Celeb or worse still, a member of the public weā€™ve never heard of before and couldnā€™t care two figs about their opinion?

And why do so many articles now start with the lines ā€˜Ten things you never knew about...ā€™ or ā€˜Ten reasons why you should never...ā€™ etc etc? Given the attention span of the youths writing this pap, Iā€™m amazed they can stay focused to ā€˜tenā€™ points or observations about anything, let alone write about them and attach a photo.

And why does the BBC insist on calling ISIS ā€œso-called Islamic Stateā€? Theyā€™re not ā€˜so-calledā€™, thatā€™s what theyā€™ve named themselves. No different to any other club, country, brand, religious or political name. Itā€™s not as if there is another Islamic State out there that might sue the Beeb. So why persist? Or why reserve it to ISIS? Why not ā€˜so-called Facebookā€™ or ā€˜so-called Manchester Unitedā€™. We might not like them nor agree with their policies, but their little club have called themselves ISIS/ISIL, thereā€™s nothing so called about it.

I am with you there, Laurie.

I put it down to my age and television viewing habits, but I read stories about this or that ā€˜Celebā€™ and wonder a) who they are and b) why they are a ā€˜Celebā€™.

Google is a fantastic tool for people like us so we may understand the reasons why these people are being talked about or written about.

No idea how old you are Rashers, but I don't think your age has anything to do with it. It's just what the media is forcing down our throats at the moment and thicko youngsters are lapping it up. In the 'old days' (not much longer than 20 years ago) Celebs had actually achieved something. Normally. Decades in film, plethora of albums, multiple world champion (or ideally failed world champion), aristocratic gambler and playboy Laughing

Now all you have to do is have a shower butt naked on a reality show and 'ta-dah' you're famous. Then you have Twitter followers, you are photographed for Hello Magazine, get invited to movie premiers and eventually appear on Strictly or Masterchef having done the sum total of f*** all. Ever. Unlike British icons such as Jagger or Caine, Kingsley or Mirren, Bowie or Moss etc. Big Cry Monsieur Le Grenadier

Spot on Grenadier Thumbs Up

Couldnā€™t agree more.

This world is becoming a big vacuum.

Donā€™t know if I have ever said this on here but a few years ago I worked for a company that had the contract to maintain a large shopping centre in Essex. You may know the one. I was training the Engineers who had Tuped to my old company and we were doing the training in a small room in the Management Suite. Between training sessions I walked out into the corridor and there were a line of people standing in the corridor outside the security room. They were all over dressed for a Friday morning shopping trip. I assumed that security had picked them up for shop lifting. I asked one of the Engineers whether it was usual to get this many shop lifters in one morning. He laughed his head off. They were the cast of ā€˜The only way is Essexā€™ doing a personal appearance in the Shopping Centre.

I rest my case, Mā€™ Lord........

I assume a 'celeb' or celebrity is someone who's presence is celebrated.
Just how many people could that describe?
