Anyone else starting to wonder whether the new Defender is actually just an urban myth & Land Rover have no intention at all of making one??

I know NOTHING, except that the more time goes by between the end of production of "our" Defender, and the date of eventual production of any "New" one, the greater "separation" there will be between the "old & the new", which IMHO, can only benefit the character, individuality, & collectability of existing Defenders.

I actually think that might be part of their strategy, the longer they leave it the less directly it'll be compared to the "old" Defender? 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

Either that or some one at Land Rover has actually read this forum and listened to everyone talk about the G wagon and Cherokee's evolution being good for the previous, and they've thought..
'maybe we should do what our clients want' and gone back to the drawing board. who knows. |

the lack of a defender is weird, why they couldn't have gone straight to the new model
we had some western power lads over at work last week, instead of the defenders they used to have - they all now have hilux with rear bodies fitted. landrover have lost 1000's of sales in this interim period, with municipal and utilities companies going else where |

Makes me laugh they say they want to get it right and the new Defender will be better than the out going model. Shame they didnt have the same mind set with the Discovery 4 replacement. 130's have feeling's as well you know
