Leafers At T’Pit

What a surprise bonus when taking my little ‘un to the National Coal Mining Museum. It was also the annual leaf sprung gathering. I got very nostalgic about my past Series LRs and respect due to them there were some ace ones there, Patina rules too apparently👍

They are still there tomorrow I believe and I also believe that I saw the venerable Strang wagon there too😎

Of particular interest to me was a camper conversion on a F.C. next to it seemed to be a genuine colour Stage One, a Carawagon to the right suns up my fave bits👍

2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 CSW Zermatt Silver

I shared the same bonus - sort of. I’d been to pick up my latest eBay purchase which is a Flatdog rack from Glossop area. Has popped the cork off my flask for a coffee break at the top of Holme Moss when a small convoy of series Land Rovers arrived. They were all from the Leafers gathering at the National Museum of Mining and had been guided around on some off road tracks by one of the local lads. All very friendly chaps. The lightweight is an ex-Belgian army 24v FFR and had been driven over from the continent for the event.

On a side note, the nice couple who I bought the rack from will next weekend be setting off from the uk on an 18 month road trip in their 300Tdi 110 SW. first travelling up to Nordcap, then working their way south to Portugal. Then over to Morocco. Thereafter on the Silk Road to Mongolia. Quite an adventure!
