haha, have you heard the one about then been called windows? They are trying to scam people, saying you have a virus on your windows PC. I would love to have had this linked to the internet, for them to have a go at, I don't think they would even know what the story is Laughing

May I suggest BT Call Protect, if you have a BT phone line.

I have been enrolled with the Telephone Preference Service for years and to be honest with you, I think it's a waste of time. No one seems to take any notice of it. I tried BT Call Protect about 6 months ago and hardly ever get a rubbish call now.

It can be set up to your own preferences, and if by chance, as above, you answer one of these calls, and it has a telephone number associated with it, you can block the call.

I've been really impressed by it. Oh, and its free.

service I have used and that's this
https://www.tpsonline.org.uk//tps/index.html
We kept getting hammered with Call centres and more call centres. Our answer machine never stopped flashing!
I signed our number up to this, and with in a month. It all stopped. Even when I changed jobs, I had call centres ringing my mobile phone, been very cheeky too! So again I signed my number up to the TPS system and bang it all stopped. Also its free too Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Rashers, I think BT, virgin and sky are the worst ones for handing out our details. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I used to get that one quite regularly, I just string them along for a while and then tell them my MacBook doesn't run windows, they usually hang up then.
Still annoying though when you're busy. Like Procta, I also signed up to TPS and the annoying junk calls have diminished to practically nothing.

Just ask 'ydych chi'n siarad Cymraeg' followed by 'Ydych chi'n dweud bod fy ffenestri wedi torri' usually this results in a short pause then the caller hanging up For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I have a Trucall device on my landline. I've had it for years and it stops about 10 unwanted calls a week. In fact I don't remember a spam call ever getting through. An excellent device.

I usually tell them they are through to Buxton police station and I'd happily put them through the right department if they tell me which of the many PC's is infected.

Call doesn't usually last too long...Wink

cheers
