I was stopped in the middle of the bridge by the pond in our village, by someone I thought I'd upset.

He wound down his window and said "Can I buy your number plate?"

It has been on my SI from new and I've owned it for 50 years this December.

I said "No thank you".

Profit is good.

Some things are better.....

I have two early Land Rovers which had special numbers on them that the previous owners pulled off.

One was sold to a bloke who wanted W ROBBO on his Volvo and the other is being held as an investment.

Buying from DVLA is one thing, "plate-rape" is another. Evil or Very Mad

I'd cheerfully give back the one I've had on my RRC for decades to the original vehicle, if it still exists and is something special.

I bought a ยฃ250 'J' reg plate from DVLA when I got my 2014 110 simply to avoid the neighbours knowing it was new.

I've since had several people who've said it's in good condition for its age!

I'll try to say this so as not to offend my Def2 brethren but private plates are...err..Marmite.

The ex Civil Defence Series 1 that my son now has custody of is RGC *** and coincidentally my partners father has the same initials, he has no interest in such things however.

Not allowed to have personalized plates in Chile.
You just are able to pick the last number to avoid environmental restriction system (that affects the cars according the plate last digit)

Cheers! Eduardo

So 70% of forum members who have sufficient interest in vanity plates to read this thread and express an opinion have one. Perhaps not surprising.

However there are over 7500 registered members of the Def2 community (many, admittedly, inactive), so perhaps what we've established is that approx 7400 out of 7500 don't care!

I don't know about everyone else but I find myself continually looking at registrations and thinking "I wonder what that's supposed to say?" After about 30 seconds sat at the lights and staring at the car in front I realise it's just a normal car registration. Frustrating as hell but I cannot stop doing.

Please help me! I can't take it any more!! Big Cry Rolling with laughter

Oh, and I don't have one myself.

Bear in mind the vast majority of us are enthusiasts so itโ€™s nothing like real world figures.
Many farm Defenders donโ€™t for example.
I was just curious really regarding D2 users. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Plus the poll is up permanently so there is no time limit so the more members who vote over time the more accurate it is. Representation of D2 members at least anyway. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R
