After Fifteen years had passed that would have been more than acceptable to me. And in my opinion, a Marslands chassis is one of the best around.

Just out of interest why did you not notice the condition of the chassis sooner?

Martin is right though this is not the place to argue semantics over who is right or wrong. However, it may only be fair for the supplier of the chassis to defend his company and give a view from the other side of the coin.

It always amazes me that people still do not understand that a public forum is not a get out of jail card and if you defame a person or a company an individual or company can take the matter into litigation and sue for defamation, slander, untruths as well as many other statements in law. And that applies to both parties. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

With regards to the comments about the internet, there is nothing I have said that I would not say in a court of law. Nothing I said was untrue. If anyone thinks that 13 years is an acceptable life span for a new galvanised chassis in normal use then I would be genuinely surprised. I have a 28 year old 130 on a standard chassis that has virtually no corrosion.
As for why I did not notice it earlier, it has rotted from the inside out. Only when it was in the very late stages was it noticeable as a blooming on the seam. I was changing a prop shaft uj and has a spanner in my hand. Gave it a knock and the spanner went through the chassis. Even at this stage it was not obvious how bad the internal corrosion was. 80" 1948

Maybe the chassis wasn’t adequately galvanised and corroded quicker than expected.
