Well today I made a start on getting rid of one MOT failure!
![]() ![]() ![]() So I made a start on replacing the full exhaust system, So I have gone from this ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge the centre box, was starting to blow too on the top!! ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge The front section I replaced last year was starting to go too! ![]() To this ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge But its only a get me through an mot exhaust, I will put a better unit on at some point ![]() Also I bought an alisport Oil cyclone breather, just cause I can ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge whipped the old one off ![]() Click image to enlarge and shoved the new one on ![]() Click image to enlarge Also I removed the seat belt mount too, which was damaged. ![]() Click image to enlarge So I am ready to install the replacement when it arrives, I am hoping to get the gearbox mounts changed next weekend, if a my pal is free. ![]() In the words of my Good Friend, Gary Forrest 1980 -2025 " we will work something out" |

Yeah it was great mash getting my hands dirty! I had a good run of things going well, but it was starting to die off with the seat belt bracket sadly. So I packed my tools up and went in. Rule is if things are going well stop, that way you come back on a mental high. Also i give my speaker wire end a little nip to make the sound a lot better, My friend on friday told me of his fond memories of the charger, and said it was a cracking buy! My dad has on his, and it runs a lot better, Mine seems to be running a lot better, but that could have been due to the exhaust and fuel pipe problem.

My seat belt brackets have came, going to be the weekend now when I get those fitted. So at least I can see if it will go through an mot. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Its as close now as it will be for an MOT, as I have just fitted the replacement seatbelt mount. So I will just throw it in for an mot to see what happens. Chances are it will fail

I got the car booked in for its mot for Monday along with the timing belt change. Be interesting to see what the story is there, as I don't think its had one judging by the things we have come across.
