Well today I made a start on getting rid of one MOT failure! I had the use of the full driveway as my parents have gone away So I can get on with things
So I made a start on replacing the full exhaust system, So I have gone from this Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge the centre box, was starting to blow too on the top!! Click image to enlarge The front section I replaced last year was starting to go too! To this Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge But its only a get me through an mot exhaust, I will put a better unit on at some point Also I bought an alisport Oil cyclone breather, just cause I can Click image to enlarge whipped the old one off Click image to enlarge and shoved the new one on Click image to enlarge Also I removed the seat belt mount too, which was damaged. Click image to enlarge So I am ready to install the replacement when it arrives, I am hoping to get the gearbox mounts changed next weekend, if a my pal is free. I bet the new exhaust sounds a lot quieter! And a lot less chance of exhaust fume poisoning. Ray

Yeah it was great mash getting my hands dirty! I had a good run of things going well, but it was starting to die off with the seat belt bracket sadly. So I packed my tools up and went in. Rule is if things are going well stop, that way you come back on a mental high. Also i give my speaker wire end a little nip to make the sound a lot better, My friend on friday told me of his fond memories of the charger, and said it was a cracking buy! Be nice to get that put to bed at some point. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

My dad has on his, and it runs a lot better, Mine seems to be running a lot better, but that could have been due to the exhaust and fuel pipe problem. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Its as close now as it will be for an MOT, as I have just fitted the replacement seatbelt mount. So I will just throw it in for an mot to see what happens. Chances are it will fail Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I got the car booked in for its mot for Monday along with the timing belt change. Be interesting to see what the story is there, as I don't think its had one judging by the things we have come across.
Anyway here is a little treat for you, been saving this one since saturday Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I am missing a set of spaces for the spare wheel, so its not exactly secure. Fingers crossed those should be in the post But there you have it! the major upgrade of 2018! Well another one bar the brakes! The old went with the tyre fitter, he may weigh them in or sell them on. The black nut covers i had on the old wheels are up for grabs, if anyone wants them, as i will just bin them.
