It does look like a well cleaned machine though Thumbs Up

Its getting a full respray... so yeah I washed it with my truck washing brush and a bottle of fairy to get the Censored off.

It will be getting washed VERY carefully when it returns!

And thanks. It's my favourite money pit. Laughing Rolling Eyes

Wondered why the bumper and grills had been taken off a respray explains why. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Today I went to Blenheim Palace to place some generators around the grounds for lighting for flower show that's this weekend and was asked to fit a flashing light, and few months ago I went down to Mersea Island and towed some caravan about on one of the camp site's ,because it's a public area I had to have a flashing light.Where to fit one ? This was my solution was mount a steel plate on top of the RAI .Seems to hang on OK up 60mph .

Years ago when escorting farm kit around the roads I glued an old magnet off a cb mag mount on the underside of my Ifor Williams top making sure the thing was the right way round to attract the magnetic mount on the flashing beacon I used. It was quite impressive to just stand by the side and just chuck the flashing light on the roof and it would "find" its spot every time. It used to take some prising off mind Whistle
I'm sure it would be simple enough to glue a similar magnet under the roof lining to do a similarjob Thumbs Up

Yesterday;

Replaced rocker gasket
Front cam seal
Oil change; Axles F&R, gengine oil and filters plus air filter.
Changed fuel filter.

Snapped one of the bolts holding the rocker cover in place, managed to remove this and replace with spare

Did the transfer case and then regretted doing it.
Noticed the drain plug was not very tight....on removal, some of the threads are damaged Sad

Managed to get a fix but a more permanent one is required. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Fitted spring isolators to the rear of the 110. Gave around 20mm lift. Will see how they go after a few miles of driving. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Which isolator did you use? The ones I found were only a rubber sleeve for the back which didn’t lift it more than a couple of mm. Ray

Have you got any pics of the fitting? Those should be too small for rear 110 springs Confused Darren

I didn’t think they made that type for rear defender springs Ray

No pics taken - sorry.
I thought they fitted OK. Certainly fitted in the top spring support OK and then spring appeared to sit OK around/below the ring. 1999 Defender TD5 110
