"P" gasket replacement
So I'm going to be replacing the "P" gasket but I just wanted some feedback on one thing:

Should I just clean properly and use gasket as is.

Or

Should I apply a thin layer of some sort of sealer?

When I did my p gasket I used a genuine metal gasket and put a thin smear of wynns instant gasket on it. That was 4 years ago and no issues so far.

^^ As above too. Have replaced two p gaskets (on different engines) this way with no problem . Also replaced water pump at same time as it was all stripped down.

These days I try to be prepared. I have already installed 2 on the timing cover and 3 on the exhaust manifold studs.

Seems LR don't believe in torq wrenches.

I have both a 8x1.25 and 10x1.5 helicoil set in my garage.
