In an attempt to protect my rear corners I recently purchased some Terrafirma bumperettes, unfortunately 1 was not welded up square, and they were made with no allowance for the fact the rear cross member actually tapers in (or it does on my 90). End result they hit the bodywork they were ment to protect, so I sent them back. Dissapointed I purchased some much cheaper ones from ebay quite a bargain compared to the originals however again no allowance made for the rear cross member, I fitted them with washers acting as spacers to square them up to the body work, and I will make some proper spacers as soon as I get a chance. Moral of the story best to carefully inspect what you buy at the time, and take your landy with you to ensure what your buying fits correctly.
Interestingly I e/mailed Terra-firma pointing out the problem sent photos etc etc showing the problem, no response not what you would expect from All-makes! ps can e/mail anyone who is interested a picture before you spend your money, one day I will work out how to post them here DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

tell me about it. When I had my 110 td5 I bought a mantec spare wheel carrier and had to chop the o/s bumperette down to fit, this also meant re-welding the fixing bracket but as luck would have it, they fitted nicely to my 90/tdi when I put the NAS step on the 110.
like robertjameswattsrob says, it's best to see the item and offer it to the rear x-member before buying especially as the people who make them seem to think 90s and 110s xmembers are the same ... but we know different. |

Chiefstoker - when were those photos taken? Do you wax and polish your rear X member daily? Yours is a 2005 and looks new - mine's a 2007 and looks as though i bathe it in sea water daily
