After driving back from the Outer Hebrides over the weekend, decided it's time to changes the standard XS seats. I bought extended seats last year. They're an improvement, but still numb after 2 hours.
However, given how much they cost, I'd like to take a look and a sit before spending any money. Does anyone know anywhere in either Yorkshire, Lake District or Northumberland (various trips planned this year) where they have a decent selection on show? Not sure my budget will stretch to Recaro, but would like to compare with Corbeau (unless there's something else I don't know about). LRI look great, and I like the idea of the trade-in, but Rye is a very long way from East Yorkshire & far too close to my in-laws. Other alternative, is there anybody in East Yorkshire pleased with their replacement seats who'd like to show them off? |

+1 on Corbeaus you wont regret it. I regarly drive 100m a day and very happy in them. Though I prefer the proper highbase ones!

How much did LRI give you for your old seats? What were your old seats? |

Like you I was fed up with my old XS seats and looked at Corbeau and a few of the others, a lot of the after market seats don't sit dead in front of the steering wheel they are off set 1" to make room for the side bolster wings and I did not like the idea of sitting at a angle,I ended up buying a pair of 2nd hand genuine heated Recaro's in very good condition for £2,200 sold my old seats for £400 ,The seat are very comfortable and nice to get in and out of because of the low base bolster, the base are removeable plus the seat sit in the same place as the XS seats ,mine are half leather with alcantara centre panel's ,they are fully heated and heat up a lot quicker than the origins.

Mine fit perfectly, had the MUD seat rails line up straight on. The only issue I had, the shoulder wings rub slightly against the B post trim. I put a small strip of foam in there to cushion an stop the creaking. The passenger seat is fine. Mine have been in 6 months, are heated and have softened up. Even the Wife loves them. The old ones, I kept rolling off them as they offered zero support. |

+1 for the genuine Recaro items.
I got a 2nd hand pair of SVX seats - heated with leather sides, LR cloth centres and embossed LR logo (!) - plus covers at £2,200 delivered from LRI who took my 2015 seats in px for £350 collected. Cost to change therefore was £1,850.00 4-6 times a year we do 16-18 hour drives and they are superb. Being straight on and not twisted is - for my back at least - really important. Will try and dig out a pic. 110 UW - '15 2.2 90 - '85 V8 soft-top RRC - '84 5 door, Option Pack C, 33k miles from new --- Elise S1 - '00 Millennium SE Elan +2 - '68 kit built by my dad Panda 4x4 - '87 in Italy |

Can only find one with the covers on - very handy for muddy dogs and puppies

Just a tip for the readers of this thread. If you have an inner hoop (for the roll cage) the recaro’s won’t clear.
No problem if you are very short but otherwise cumbersome. Therefore i’ve purchased the scheelmann Seats. You can buy these at naka. About the same price range as the recaro’s and better looking if you ASK me a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover |

Was recaros for me. Sat in a few. The scheelmans are lovely and comfy but no good if you’re tall as they sit you slightly higher in my opinion.

Will you sit higher or at the same height as with the normal Defender seats? |
