Just Spied the New Renault Pick Up, whilst driving my Double Cab Pick Up, and thought ooh, I've seen one of those before. See if you can find it amongst this list of highly distinctive pick up variants

The odd one out is the Defender because in 20 years time it will still be a useful truck whereas all of the others will be made into recycled bean cans. Am I right, do I get a prize as well? 1984 One-Ten CSW

Surely the Defender is the odd one out on the basis that people drive / own all the others on the basis of need and at least some if not most own the Defender because they want to. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

The Defender is the odd one out. No one will wave at you on the road (unless you cut them up) in any of those vehicles other than the Defender...... Or is something to do with corrosion? No, the Navara is in there

And so is the Reanault. I’m wondering where Opal got theirs from. When they were part of GM there were tie ups with Isuzu, so it that a rebadged DMax? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

I wouldn't. Had one at work on hire, 800 miles on the clock. Forever getting "locked" into low range, windscreen wipers literally fell apart at about 950 miles. Nice enough to drive and all, but shocking how the 4x4/low range system was so poorly designed. At one point I had to drive it around in the middle of the night in low range on the road, 30 mph in 6th I think, screaming like a banshee. It isn't levers its all "clever" electronics. It was even worse than the rubbish diff lock set up on a Defender. 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

And I thought they were bullet proof!
Well that’s the Hilux of the list....... I like the Dacia pickup photo above. Dacia are the new Skoda of 15 years ago. Whereas Skoda were VW engineered, Dacia has Renault all over it. I had two Skoda Octavias and really rated them. Incredibly reliable and cost less than the Golf that it is based upon. I know a few people with Dacias and they also rate them very highly. The British motorcycles industry laughed at Honda when they started producing motorbikes. |
