Painting Land Rover Safari Roof Rack
Hello. I am looking to paint the black LR Safari Roof Rack in the color white to match the paint on my 07 Defender 110. I am wondering if anyone has done this before or if anyone has any recommendations. I am starting to notice some rust on the rack right now, so ideally would like to treat the rust at the same time.
Thank you.

Hi I recently was going to paint a secondhand winch bumper (Very Rusty) but thought ill try getting a price to have it Blasted and Powdercoated. I was very pleasantly surprised. £50 to blast and black gloss powder with rainbow glitter in the powder. came out lovely. Just a suggestion you could look at.

You can't say the words "winch bumper black gloss with rainbow glitter" without showing us the result...

Hi its very hard to get a picture of it catching the light but ill have a go tomorrow. I took a video of it just after I finished fitting it but you cant really make out the glitter even switched up to 1080p.

Sadly as you can see in the video the bumper was very rusted and pitted which can be seen in the video but its hardly noticeable in the flesh. Not bad for £50 and they did all the work.

Doesnt really show it very well so I made a video.....

&feature=player_embedded

I filmed this using an Iphone 4 and a Maglight with LED conversion which is only showing the white and blue flakes because of the LED Lighting.

Hope this helps.

Yea both the Warn and the bumper came together and they were both totally shot. I dunno what they had been doing to them the Warn had barely any paint left and it wasnt that old. Anyway good for me cos I wanted it to match. I stripped the paint off the Warn with Nitromors (What was left of the paint that is) took it to my local blasters and they just did a bit of tidy up. Then I sprayed it with some silver Hammerite that was kicking around the workshop in my airbrush. Got a full decal kit of Devon 4x4. Looks new. Very Happy

Does anyone else have any experience with powder-coating or electro-static painting on Defender?
Thanks

My wing chequer plates were powdered. Very very resistant! a bit hard to clean though. You can use normal PU paint (used in OE tires) but it is not that tough. Puma 110" SW

Just had a rear NAS step inc brackets, tow ball, Mantec wheel carrier and all the associated brackets , rear mud flap brackets all shot blasted and re powder coated satin black cost me £110 for everything and they did a fantastic job.
It all looks better than new.
I have fitted the rear mud flaps so far with new stainless steel nuts bolts and washers only problem was the old rivnuts so I knocked them out and fitted new ones.
