Dunno why I was sucked in to the idea of a Defender reveal so much - should have known better. Doesn't mean I'm not disappointed this morning though.
Can't put off buying a new vehicle forever so I guess I'll have to decide between a Troopy, or a 4Motion Transporter, or a Jeep, or something else entirely. All compromises that I was hoping would not need to be made if there was a new Defender. |

This seems the progress as per January 2018 at the Nitra site where the new Defender will be produced. That’s only a good 3 months ago. Guess will be a stretch to be really up and running in a year from now.
Eric Now, this movie here is about 1 month old. Big progress, but outer shell of the buildings reveal nothing about the progress to install the assembly line and all the rest. Will surely take us into 2019 before all done, tested, and ready for production. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw Last edited by ericvv on 1st May 2018 5:29am. ^^ That’s about the same as I heard. Earliest presentation poss seems Paris auto show in October 2018, but not sure yet. Production/deliveries not before summer 2019. Who knows, maybe the presentation will be March 2019 here in Geneva.

What’s for real really mean? Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge You can buy these plates here, identical quality as the real ones, but would be unwise to venture onto public roads with them. Jensen FF, if I recall correctly, with Ferguson Formula four-wheel-drive and Dunlop Maxaret braking system. Ahead of its time. |

Wrote a rather sarky comment on Land Rovers youtube site last night and to be fair LR replied.
Though in LR eyes everything had to be perfect shame the VId wasn't. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

The biggest problem was that there wasn't any 'news' Darren

Disappointing also but perhaps unsurprising that marketing professionals don't know the difference between "its" and "it's", although there was little that was professional about this particular fiasco. |

That´s an understatement, Eric. In Switzeland they would probably confiscate your car, your bicycle, and your bus card, demand a complete review of your income from the last ten years, and ban you from driving for about three lifetimes. Complete disregard for the laws, fake documentation (which those plates COULD be considered to be, if fitted) isn´t taken lightly. Cool plates, anyway Stephen 1998 Tdi 90 SW, 2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MTs, Recaro CSs, anorak, wellingtons |
